Friends

“Do not be decieved: Evil company corrupts good habits.” I Corinthians 15:33

As children approach adolescence, friends become more and more important to them. However, some friends can be a bad influence on them. So what do you teach the children about friends? Some would tell children not to have unbelieving friends at all. But how can the children win others to Christ if they have no unsaved friends?

Here is a good rule of thumb: Since friends always influence each other one way or another, if the saved child is not the one influencing their friend for Christ, they should find a new friend. Since believing children normally already have a desire to see their friends come to Christ, if you can help them keep this desire as they enter their teenage years, you will be helping to equip them for a successful Christian walk.
