Encouraging Quiet-time

Encouraging the children to maintain a daily devotional time can be one of the best things you can do for them. One way you can do this is to get together with the parents. Explain the importance of this task and seek their help. Give them a couple of sheets of gold star stickers and ask them to place a gold star on a calendar in their home on each day the child has his quiet-time. If this doesn’t work, provide the child with a calendar for the month and ask the child to keep track. You could even offer a prize for each child that keeps up with devotions a certain percentage of days during the month.

Don’t give up! If you can help the child develop the habit of spending time with God each day, you will have given them a great gift.
