Teaching Tip of the Week

Early Birds
The teacher should always be there first, whether in the classroom or the
club host home. But what if some children begin to arrive earlier than you
would like?
Try to have something on hand that the children can do until it is time to
begin. It should be something fun, but related to the lesson so the children
will have their minds on the subject when you start. Here are a few
possibilities:
- Word Puzzles (crossword puzzles or word searches)
- Storybooks
- A Related Craft Project
- Bible Story Coloring Books
Or have them help you pick out songs to sing that day or recite last
week's memory verse.
Whatever it is, a quiet activity that helps them focus on what you are about
to teach is most desirable.
