Teaching Tip of the Week

Attention-getter

Have you ever had a bunch of excited children come to club, class, VBS, retreat, camp or other event and you were in charge of starting the program? Yelling got some of their attention, but many of the children were still talking or running around. (Besides, it didn't do your voice or your nerves any good either.)

Try pulling out one of their favorite visualized songs and just start singing! You will find that before long all of the children have joined in the singing and you are able to start the program off with all of their attention right as you are finishing the song.
